Search for the best private hospital in Dubai, and you will find dozens of lists, most of them without any explanation of how hospitals were chosen. This guide takes a different approach. It reports the results of one published, methodology-based ranking, Newsweek and Statista’s World’s Best Hospitals 2026, and lists the ten highest-placed private hospitals in Dubai in the order Newsweek ranked them.
This guide excludes government hospitals because it covers private care. Rashid Hospital, run by Dubai Health, placed third in the UAE and is a major public hospital option.
How does the Newsweek ranking work?
Newsweek and Statista assessed over 2,500 hospitals in 32 countries for the 2026 edition. Each hospital is assessed on four sources: hospital quality metrics (40 per cent), recommendations from medical experts (30 per cent national, 5 per cent international), patient experience data (18.5 per cent) and a survey on the use of patient-reported outcome measures, or PROMs (6.5 per cent).
Two points are worth noting. Hospitals can only be compared with others in the same country. Newsweek also states that regional medical performance indicators and patient satisfaction data were unavailable for Dubai hospitals, so the assessment relied on other national data. The ranking can help with your research, but it should not be the only factor in choosing a hospital.

How should you use a hospital ranking?
Use the ranking as one factor when comparing hospitals. A small difference in position may not mean much for the care you receive. Check whether the hospital accepts your insurance, has the specialists you need and is easy to reach. In an emergency, getting to a hospital with a 24-hour emergency department matters more than its ranking. In Dubai, call 998 for an ambulance.
It is also worth asking your GP or specialist where they would refer a family member. Peer recommendations make up 35 per cent of the Newsweek assessment for a reason.
