Just days before Eid Al Adha, the UAE sent four aid convoys into the Gaza Strip carrying 930 tonnes of essential supplies for civilians. What the Convoys Carried
The four convoys were loaded and prepared at the UAE’s humanitarian aid logistics hub in Al Arish, Egypt. A total of 60 lorries were used to transport the supplies, with two of the convoys carrying Eid Al Adha clothing specifically for the people of Gaza.
Mohammed Al Kaabi, a member of the UAE humanitarian aid mission in Al Arish, said the team worked closely with Egyptian authorities to make sure the convoys moved smoothly into Gaza. More than 540 tonnes of the total shipment consisted of garments provided by the Emirates Red Crescent, meant to bring some joy to families during the holiday season.
The aid was sent as part of Operation Gallant Knight 3, which the UAE launched shortly after the conflict between Israel and Hamas began on October 7, 2023. The operation has been running continuously since then, delivering food, medicine, and other vital supplies to people in Gaza.
